Tish Lyon – Artistic Director Dream Makers Studio

Tish is a graduate of Goodman School of Drama/DePaul University with a BFA in acting and Masters in communications and speech, with additional post-graduate work in directing at Cornell, Columbia, Rutgers, Loyola and University of Chicago. For enjoyment she spent her youth studying art, architecture and design at the Art Institute of Chicago and Loyola University, Rome Italy. Nominated for the Sarah Siddons award for best actress, she has worked professionally in theatre, opera, film, radio and television. Tish is a veteran stage director, producer, actor, stage manager, and costume designer. She is artistic director and owner of Dream Makers Studio, a theatre arts school for children and adults based at the Woodstock Opera House.

Tish will begin her ninth year as resident costume designer at MCC’s theatre department. Some of her favorite costume design credits include: “I Hate Hamlet”, “Fiorello”, “The Man Who Came to Dinner” (TSP), “The Mikado” (WMTC), “Wizard of Oz”, “Phantom”, “Robin Hood” and “The Odyssey”(MCC gifted program for children).

Tish has been the artistic director of Children’s Theatre of Elgin and Fox Valley Theatre Company for the past fourteen years; she also develops and teaches theatre classes for youth at Elgin Community College.
